Maverick and Gürkan bring a “better than you were” mindset to Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) & NoGi (Submission Grappling practised without the Gi), and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). It’s all about focusing on self-improvement and personal growth, with plenty of support and lighthearted fun from the entire Ground Zero team.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai Classes
Our Muay Thai Classes are open to all levels and anyone who wishes to learn the basics of Muay Thai and build on their previous or current experience. These classes cover basic to complex techniques and combinations with cardio/conditioning sessions to maintain the fitness level required for Muay Thai. These classes include supervised sparring sessions focusing on correcting techniques, with each student wearing protective equipment.

Intermediate Muay Thai Classes
These classes build on foundational skills, focusing on developing timing, flow, and control. You’ll be introduced to more complex combinations, advanced techniques, and sparring elements to sharpen your striking and prepare for higher levels of training. High-paced and technical, this class is ideal for students ready to push their development further.

Fundamental Muay Thai Classes
Fundamental Muay Thai classes focus on teaching the core techniques, stance, and footwork in a beginner-friendly setting. Designed for newcomers or those wanting to refine their technique, these classes emphasise building a solid foundation through structured drills and pad work. You will develop technique, improve fitness, and build confidence before progressing to more advanced training.

Muay Thai Sparring - Basics & Junior
Both the Junior Sparring and Sparring Basics classes focus on building strong foundational skills and learning how to apply them safely with a partner. Students will develop proper stance, footwork, and striking technique, then progress to supervised sparring drills that include clinch work, punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and defence. All students must wear protective equipment, and training is fully coached to ensure control and safety.

Muay Thai Clinching Classes
Our Clinching Classes focus on one of the most important and distinct parts of Muay Thai. These classes cover various elements of clinch techniques, thriving and overcoming exhaustion, defence in the clinch and sparring scenarios to equip a fighter with the necessary skills to dominate in the clinch with care. All sparring scenarios are controlled and coached, with each student required to wear protective equipment.

Conditioning Classes
These classes are designed to enhance your physical conditioning while reinforcing key techniques like striking, footwork, and clinching. With a focus on drills, bag work, and bodyweight and weighted exercises, they build the strength and resilience needed for sparring, clinching, and competition, perfect for fighters and fitness enthusiasts alike!

Kids & Junior Muay Thai Classes
Our Kids and Junior Muay Thai Classes focus on building fundamental striking skills in a safe, fully supervised environment. Kids aged 4–7 are introduced to basic movements and technique through fun, game-based, structured drills. Juniors aged 7–12 build on those skills with a focus on safe drilling, control, and teamwork. All students must wear protective equipment.

Junior Muay Thai Fighter Classes
Our Junior Competition Classes primarily focus on sparring and preparation for competing. These classes are for those who want to compete to get all-around comprehension of competitive fighting and how to handle certain situations that may arise during a fight in the ring. These classes include ring-side coaching with high-intensity rounds to prepare fighters for competitive fighting.

Our Fighter Classes primarily focus on sparring and preparation for competing. These classes are for those who actively compete to get an overview of competition scenarios and how to handle certain situations that may arise during a fight in the ring. These classes include coaching and high-intensity rounds in the ring to maintain the fitness level required for competitive fighting.

Women Only Muay Thai Classes
Our Women-Only Muay Thai classes focus on proper technique, conditioning, and practical application. You’ll develop effective striking, footwork, and defensive tactics in a safe and supportive environment under expert guidance. Whether training for fitness, self-defence, or improving your Muay Thai skills, this class is tailored to meet your needs and build confidence in your abilities.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and NoGi Grappling

Fundamental BJJ and NoGi Classes
Our Fundamental BJJ and NoGi Classes focus on core techniques crucial to evolving as a grappler and applying the techniques correctly and safely. These classes improve your overall BJJ knowledge, movement, and coordination and help reinforce your foundations for more advanced techniques. All ranks (white to black belt) are encouraged to participate in these classes. These classes include supervised and controlled drill sessions to understand technique application.

BJJ and NoGi Classes
Our BJJ and NoGi classes welcome all ranks, offering extensive breakdowns of modern attacks, defence techniques and transitions from stand-up to the ground for an all-around understanding of grappling. These classes flow into our sparring sessions to practice applying these techniques for familiarity, allowing you to apply techniques with precision and confidence in live matches.

Advanced NoGi Leglock Classes
Our advanced NoGi Leglock classes provide a deep understanding of the mechanics, timing, and control required to execute leg attacks effectively, making them a crucial aspect of advanced grappling techniques. While highly effective, leglocks demand careful execution to ensure the safety of both the practitioner and their partner.
This class is offered to coloured ranks (Blue belt and above), as they have a solid grasp of the BJJ and/or NoGi fundamentals, which is essential. These classes explore complex, nuanced, and specialised techniques, often building on foundational knowledge to further enhance your skill set.

Junior BJJ and NoGi Classes
Our Junior BJJ and NoGi Classes are for ages 6yrs+ and cover fundamental techniques, movement and coordination, and exploration of core techniques. These classes focus on a more in-depth look at connecting core techniques with a rolling session that works towards building a more balanced and complete BJJ game.

Competition Classes
Our Competition Classes focus primarily on sparring and preparation for competition. These classes are reserved exclusively for active competitors to get an overview of competition scenarios and how to handle certain situations that may arise during a competitive match. These classes include coaching and high-intensity rolling sessions for maintaining the fitness level required for competing.

Women Only BJJ & NoGi Classes (Exclusive to Members Only)
Our Women Only BJJ and NoGi classes are exclusively for female members and are run by women, for women. These sessions are not available to casual class attendees to maintain the safety, privacy, and comfort of everyone involved.
Open to all female ranks, classes include detailed breakdowns of modern grappling techniques covering attack, defence, and transitions in a supportive environment. Each session also includes drills and controlled rolling to safely apply techniques and build confidence in situations that may arise during a match.
Please note: The women-only BJJ and NoGi classes are not listed on the timetable, as they are organised independently based on demand and scheduling.
NEW! Mixed Martial Arts
Our Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) classes bring together striking and grappling techniques from Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to develop complete, well-rounded fighters. Each session is designed to build real, functional skills through a mix of technical drills, striking and takedown combinations, ground control, and controlled sparring. Our MMA classes are beneficial for everyone because they offer a comprehensive full-body workout that improves physical health through cardio, strength, and flexibility, while also providing mental health advantages like stress relief, confidence, and discipline.
OUR MMA COACH
Gürkan will be leading our MMA program. With over 12 years of experience dating back to Spitfire Gym in Berlin, he has worked extensively as both a grappling and MMA coach, as well as a fight manager, guiding male and female athletes who have competed successfully in top MMA promotions such as FFC, M1 Global, GMC, and ACB across Europe, the United States, Russia, and beyond. Gürkan’s coaching style focuses on building game plans that play to your strengths, expose your opponent’s weaknesses, and prepare you for the demands of modern MMA. His goal is to make every athlete combat-ready, adaptable, and confident in all areas of the fight game.
Private & Group Coaching Sessions + Programs

Private Muay Thai Coaching
Private Muay Thai coaching focuses on sharpening your technique, timing, and ring awareness through 1-on-1 coaching. Every session is tailored to your style, body type, and goals, with detailed feedback that accelerates skill development and builds fight confidence.
Please note: Sessions are 60 minutes, priced separately from your membership, and available Saturdays from 6 am.

Private Grappling Coaching
Private Grappling coaching is designed to sharpen your technique, timing, and strategy. These 90-minute sessions suit both small groups and individuals, offering personalised feedback and customised drills based on your goals. Sessions can include breakdowns of live and/or recorded rolls to improve decision-making under pressure.
Please note: These 90-minute sessions are priced the same for individuals or groups (up to 4) and are separate from your membership.
Kids Level Up Program
The Level Up Program offers fun, disciplined training for kids aged 3 to 8, helping them stay active, make friends, and learn self-defence. This 8-week, game-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu course runs two 45-minute classes per week, building confidence, discipline, strength, balance, and agility. Each child receives an activity journal to track their progress, and families are invited to the end-of-term Grading BBQ to celebrate their little grapplers’ achievements.
